Facebook Product Design Intern
Connecting Facebook Page Admins to the Right Audiences. Summer 2017.
Facebook Page admins reach their audiences by frequently posting and then boosting (advertising those posts) to an audience. Before this project, admins could only boost one post to one audience. I helped design a world in which admins could run multiple boosts per post. Admins would be able to, for example, run a/b tests, have more than 1 admin boost a post, and other use cases.
Design a system that allows businesses to create and compare multiple boosts, unlocking more opportunities for success.
WHAT IS A BOOST?
Businesses want to maximize the success of their boosts. Creating and comparing multiple boosts with variability unlocks more opportunities for success.
Enable multiple boosts per post. Boosts should be able to run at the same time, by different admins, with different variables.
CURRENT BOOST STATES
BEFORE V.S GOAL
1. ENTRY POINT TO LIST VIEW
Pros: Scaleable, More real-estate, Can compare all boosts at one.
Cons: Additional step, Could not view boost in relation to post, Doesn't support parent child model
2. STACKED BOOST
Pros: Shows all the information in the same screen, Can compare all the boosts
Cons: Not scaleable, Could drastically extend the footer
Pros: Scalable, supports parent-child model
Cons: Hard to compare all boosts, people would have to remember previous boost data while scrolling
1. Increased creation of overall boosts by 7%.
2. Biggest feature shipped by Facebook Pages from July 2017 - December 2017.
